Wilbert Van ''Rocky'' Floyd, Jr., 49, of Roanoke Rapids died Monday, March 14, 2011 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Rocky was a native of Halifax County. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Van Floyd, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Proctor Floyd; his daughter, Ashley Beckett and her husband, Jeffrey, and their children, Noah and Joshua, of Roanoke, VA; two sons, Brad Floyd and his wife, Michele, and their children, Holden and Corbin, and Adam Floyd, all of Roanoke Rapids; his mother, Jerri Tripp; his grandmother, Louise Floyd; two sisters, Sheila Ferrell and her husband, Doug, and Angie Gay and her husband, Jamie, all of Roanoke Rapids; his brother, Tony Floyd and his wife, Kim, of Seaboard; and several nieces and nephews.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, March 17, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18, at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Wayne Marshall officiating.
